Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago is a hands-on learning laboratory for children ages birth to 8. All of the exhibits and programs are aligned to the Illinois State Learning Standards and are designed to make learning fun and interesting for young children.

GO PLAY – A JUGAR is a children’s play center with an indoor playground, themed play areas, and party rooms; that provides families a fun, safe and clean place for children seven years old and under. There are many themed play areas like house, drama, music, doll daycare, gym, supermarket, library, slides, climbing structures, costumes, accessories, toys, and more to encourage your child’s imagination.
Babies, crawlers and toddlers have a separate space where parents can interact with them on soft climbing structures.

All adults and children must wear socks when entering the play area.

Margate Park Playground

Created as a collaboration between artists and playground designers, Margate Park Playground is stunning. The park has a lakefront theme, brought to life by public art integrated into the design. A swarm of stainless-steel butterflies greets visitors at the entrance, while bee, dragonfly, and butterfly sculptures mounted on flexible poles sway and create moiré patterns with their shadows. A community-made mosaic depicting a fantastical aquatic scene adorns a bench that snakes its way around the playground, adding color and whimsy.

Room 2 Play

Room2Play is designed to foster creativity, exploration, social and intellectual development through play.They provide a safe, open-play environment combining learning and fun in a unique environment with imaginative “play” stations and activities. Infants can play with colorful toys and books in a dedicated infant area, while toddlers and elementary school-aged kids can have fun pretending to cook in the miniature kitchen, conduct the trains in the railway area, play dress up, and much more!

Open Play Hours: 9:30 a.m. – Noon (Monday – Friday)

My Corner Playroom

This place has drop in interactive playtime ($15), as well as music classes, and arts and crafts. This space is full of model trains, feather boas and slides galore. Free parking is also a plus, as is the proximity to the grocery store.

Fantasy Kingdom

Just good clean fun. It’s parent supervised play where kids can play dress-up in amazing costumes, use their imagination to put out a fire, grocery shop, or catch a bad guy, watch out for dragons and more!
You can take your lunch and spend the day. Enrichment programs mean no missed naps! It’s specially designed for children 6 and under. Siblings under 1 are FREE with a paid sibling! Adults are FREE!
