Hoffman’s Playland is a small amusement park that caters to the younger crowd. First opened in 1952, the park boasts 19 rides including a Carousel, and a video arcade that is, of course, complete with Skeeball and other traditional video games. Strong National Museum of Play

Strong National Museum of Play is the region’s largest year-round family attraction and the only museum in the world devoted to the importance of play.

The museum has more than 150,000 square feet of dynamic, hands-on exhibits space. Guests can save the metropolis from evil-doers in the American Comic Book Heroes exhibit, shop in a kid-sized Wegmans market, meet Big Bird and Elmo on Sesame Street, travel Down a Sunny Dirt Road to meet The Berenstain Bears, and enjoy so much more. The museum is home to the National Toy Hall of Fame and the International Center for the History of Electronic Games™.

Strong National Museum of Play also features family-friendly activities, outstanding guest service, and amenities including a Food Court, a vintage diner, the Elaine Wilson Carousel, the Strong Express Train, and two shops.

The Sandbox Indoor Playground

The Sandbox Indoor Playground is a 6,000 sq ft play facility strictly for the 8 and under crowd. Riverside Park

There are 14 playgrounds in this wonderful park, including a series of endearing animal-themed ones: Hippo, Dinosaur, Beaver, Camel, and Elephant. Don’t miss River Run Playground, where a replica of the Hudson River (complete with plaques listing the cities that line its banks) bisects the park and provides a great water-play experience.

Riverside Park Skate Park

The skate park features various skating surfaces, including two half-pipes, and other ramps and rails. The park is open Thursday – Monday from May through October. The hours are 11 am – 7 pm in June, July and August, and in May, September and October the park is open on weekends only from 11 am – 7 pm. Admission is free, but skaters need to have a signed waiver on file in order to skate. Skaters under the age of 18 must have their form signed by a parent or guardian. Helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are required.

Billy Johnson Playground

For children of all ages, this playground is just north of the Children’s Zoo. It is one of the most beautifully landscaped playgrounds with many rustic features, a stone bridge, a 45 foot-long spiral granite slide, an amphitheater-like seating area, gazebo, toddler swings, a water feature, and two picnic tables.
