There are 14 playgrounds in this wonderful park, including a series of endearing animal-themed ones: Hippo, Dinosaur, Beaver, Camel, and Elephant. Don’t miss River Run Playground, where a replica of the Hudson River (complete with plaques listing the cities that line its banks) bisects the park and provides a great water-play experience.

Riverside Park Skate Park

The skate park features various skating surfaces, including two half-pipes, and other ramps and rails. The park is open Thursday – Monday from May through October. The hours are 11 am – 7 pm in June, July and August, and in May, September and October the park is open on weekends only from 11 am – 7 pm. Admission is free, but skaters need to have a signed waiver on file in order to skate. Skaters under the age of 18 must have their form signed by a parent or guardian. Helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are required.

Billy Johnson Playground

For children of all ages, this playground is just north of the Children’s Zoo. It is one of the most beautifully landscaped playgrounds with many rustic features, a stone bridge, a 45 foot-long spiral granite slide, an amphitheater-like seating area, gazebo, toddler swings, a water feature, and two picnic tables.
